Chile awaits for the 2019 South American Amateur Golf Championship
The calendar 2019 of the South American Golf starts soon in the new year, with the South American Amateur Golf Championship. The competition will take place in the Los Leones Golf Club in Santiago de Chile, with the presence of the best exponents of amateur golf in South America, as well as players from 13 countries from Europe, Central and North America.
Led by the defending champion, Chris Crisologo (Canada), and the runner-up in the women category, the Colombian Silvia Garcés, the field of the South American Amateur Golf Championship presents outstanding names of the amateur golf in the región, with the best of each of the ten countries in our area.
Seven players (two ladies and five men) arrives to Chilean soil in the Top-100 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), the parameter that measures the performance of the best amateurs on the planet. This fact attests to great quality of golf that we will be able to witness starting Thursday January 10th and until Sunday 13th in the golf course located in the heart of the Chilean capital.
The Peruvian Luis Fernando Barco, who finished his presence in the Purdue University, stands as the best south american player according to the WAGR (26), as well as the Irish Annabel Wilson, ranked 25th in the Women’s classification
The Paraguayan Sofía Garcia, two-time champion, is set as another of South America’s strong candidate, not only because of her status as a two-time winner but also because of her current status as one of the representatives of the generation of gold of Paraguayan female golf.
